The protests against Prime Minister Imran Khan under the leadership of the fiery Maulana and leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Pakistan has continued for the seventh day on Thursday, failing to break the deadlock between the opposition and the government. Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, a member of the governmentтАЩs team of interlocutors, met Fazlur Rahman at his home in Islamabad on Thursday to end the protest. Elahi said after the meeting that we will soon convey тАЬgood newsтАЭ to the country regarding the talks between the government and the opposition.

Right-wing Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Fazlur Rahman is spearheading the demonstration called the тАШIndependence MarchтАЩ in Islamabad. He is demanding Imran KhanтАЩs resignation, accusing Imran Khan of тАЬriggingтАЭ in the 2018 election. Opposition parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan PeopleтАЩs Party (PPP) have also supported this anti-government protest.
