Nearly 4,000 yatris headed for Kedarnath have been stopped in Linchauli and Bhimbali as a precautionary measure, Rudraprayag disaster management officer NS Singh said.
The Char Dham Devasthanam Board said the yatra has been temporarily halted for the sake of safety of pilgrims in view of the heavy rain alert issued by the Uttarakhand meteorological department for October 17-19.
The peaks beyond Badrinath and Kedarnath received light snowfall, whereas the lower areas in Chamoli district were lashed by continuous showers. Rain continued in Uttarkashi and Dehradun as well.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-1915875536057836&output=html&h=280&adk=2143545859&adf=2694857954&pi=t.aa~a.129864629~i.7~rp.4&w=640&fwrn=4&fwrnh=100&lmt=1634572009&num_ads=1&rafmt=1&armr=3&sem=mc&pwprc=9900818253&tp=site_kit&psa=1&ad_type=text_image&format=640×280&url=https%3A%2F%2Fenglish.gnsnews.co.in%2Frain-lashes-uttarakhand-temporarily-chardham-yatra-halted%2F&flash=0&fwr=0&pra=3&rh=160&rw=640&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&wgl=1&fa=27&adsid=ChAI8La0iwYQ-NrSu4rrhdYnEj0AWeCXc6fzYQOpckKw_VF12SytFCexD_8PCIFdXk1Uj2difHQvKqZHDZ3DWnugWFKMQFnft3In4kP_CL4K&uach=WyJXaW5kb3dzIiwiMTAuMC4wIiwieDg2IiwiIiwiOTQuMC40NjA2LjgxIixbXSxudWxsLG51bGwsIjY0Il0.&dt=1634572009897&bpp=2&bdt=1974&idt=-M&shv=r20211013&mjsv=m202110080101&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3Dde49810fe66d4fae-22b0f62d0cc600c8%3AT%3D1613377481%3ART%3D1613377481%3AS%3DALNI_MZ7OaE550f3p0ZwwexI0Lzi6Y6nhg&prev_fmts=0x0%2C1200x280&nras=3&correlator=886193170625&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=225956152.1613377481&ga_sid=1634572010&ga_hid=483753954&ga_fc=0&u_tz=330&u_his=6&u_h=768&u_w=1360&u_ah=728&u_aw=1360&u_cd=24&adx=182&ady=1590&biw=1343&bih=657&scr_x=0&scr_y=800&eid=31062580%2C44750573&oid=2&pvsid=1467692682855070&pem=979&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fenglish.gnsnews.co.in%2F&eae=0&fc=1408&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C1360%2C0%2C1360%2C728%2C1360%2C657&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7Cs%7C&abl=NS&fu=128&bc=31&jar=2021-10-18-15&ifi=3&uci=a!3&btvi=1&fsb=1&xpc=2zmMmPi4yG&p=https%3A//english.gnsnews.co.in&dtd=52
