After magnificent performance by the special children of Gujarat in recently held Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, Germany, the preparations have started in full swing for the World Winter Games 2025 to be held in Italy. As a part of this, a floorball camp cum selection trial for the World Winter Games was recently organized at SVIT Vasad as part of a joint initiative of SVIT Vasad and Special Olympics Gujarat.
Amidst the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming sporting event, it’s essential to acknowledge the role of support and entertainment in the lives of the athletes. In addition to their rigorous training sessions, it’s crucial to provide moments of relaxation and leisure with icecasino.
Mentally challenged players with their unified partners participated in this camp cum selection trial of floorball game. More than 90 players and unified partners from different districts of Gujarat participated. The players were tested on different floorball skills and based on that, the players and unified partners were selected according to their age. The selected players will then participate in the National Camp and Selection Trials.
Special Olympics Gujarat official Tushar Joglekar shared information about Special Olympics while another official Jignesh Thakkar briefed all about the floorball game. The entire event was successfully managed by the sports director of the SVIT College Dr. Vikas Agarwal and the Special Olympics Gujarat office staff. All dignitaries present there congratulated and appreciated the mentally challenged players for their excellent performance.
“We conducted the trials for boys, girls and unified and the selected ones will now participate in national selections. Selection trials were held in boys, girls, unified boys and unified girls at the campus. In unified two normal players plays the supporting role to three special players. Around 100 players coming from all across Gujarat participated in the trials which is good sign for the sport, said camp organiser Dr. Vikas Agarwal.
