High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to India and Ambassador of Central Africa’s country Angola to India pays courtesy meet to CM

High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana in West Africa to India Shri Sugandh Rajaram and Ambassador of Angola in Central Africa to India Pratibha Parkar paid courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.

During this visit a discussion took place regarding the diamond found in the diamond mines in Angola which is sent to Surat, the diamond city of Gujarat for polishing.

In this regard Ambassador of Angola to India Pratibha Parkar told Chief Minister that value addition is likely to occur if diamond polishers from Surat start their own businesses in Angola.

During their visit to Gujarat, They will also visit Surat and consult with diamond polished professionals for investment prospects in the sector.

The potential for business and the connectivity in the agriculture and pharmaceutical sectors was also discussed.

She also told the Chief Minister that Angola send its delegation to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit every year.

While having conversation with the Chief Minister High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to India Shri Sugandh Rajaram said that India and especially Gujarat is the leading trading and business partner for Ghana. Not only that, with a large number of Gujarati communities living in Ghana, there are also prospects for mutually beneficial as well as friendly and cooperative relations between Ghana and India.

High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to India also spoke about the opening of the Forensic Science Department at the University of Ghana in collaboration with the National Forensic Sciences University NFSU, located in Gujarat.

During this meet, they also discussed the possibility of moving forward with Gujarat-Ghana Angola in the fields of pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education and critical infrastructure.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also expressed eagerness to provide necessary help and cooperation from the state government regarding this prospect.

Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Shri Rajkumar, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Shri Pankaj Joshi as well as Industry Commissioner Shri Rahul Gupta etc joined the meeting.
