Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the second edition of Zalawad Business Conclave-2022 at Surendranagar.
Addressing the three-day conclave organized by Zalawad Federation of Trade and Industries, the Chief Minister said that, As a result of the prescience and continuous efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Gujarat today has become a major hub of industrial development. As a result of these efforts, Gujarat is one of the most preferred states for doing business in the country today.
The Government of Gujarat has been making continuous improvements in the areas of trade and industry, including easy access to skilled human resources, continuous development of infrastructural facilities, simplification of processes. As a result, Gujarat is at the top in the country in terms of economic performance, despite the unpropitious effects of the pandemic on industries and businesses.
Talking about the steps for the development of economic activities in the state, including the planning of Vibrant Summit and its success, taken by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat CM said that, Two decades ago, the number of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state was 2.74 lakh which has increased to 8 lakh today. In the year 2022 the industrial output was 1.27 lakh crore, which has now increased to 16.19 lakh crore in 2022 today.
The Chief Minister added that in some cases, the issue of closure notices has come to the notice of the government. Conducive environment has been created for the management and development of industrial and commercial activities in Gujarat moreover, relentless efforts in that direction will continue. He expressed confidence that Gujarat would be at the forefront with the help of its entrepreneurs in fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s dream of making the country a 5 trillion economy.
The Prime Minister’s vision is to create a system where government benefits can easily reach every nook and corner of the country and the government is committed to ensure that every district moves forward in this development journey as Gujarat has become the growth engine of the country today. Speaking about the opportunities in Surendranagar district, the Chief Minister said that, While there is adequate potential for development of agro-based industries in the district, sufficient efforts will be made by the government to develop projects like setting up of textile parks.
Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavji Patel said that, Zalawad Business Conclave is more than welcome initiative, which will provide a pleasing platform for the progress of Surendranagar district in the field of trade and industry. Stating Gujarat as a leader in the field of foreign capital investment, the Cabinet Minister added that, The Vibrant Gujarat Summit which was started by the then Chief Minister and the current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the noble intention of expanding industries in Gujarat, setting up new industries and creating investment opportunities.
Today other states of the country are following this vibrant summit. With the government making Narmada water available in Surendranagar district, the dry region will now become green and many opportunities for development of agro-based industries will be created in the district, the minister added. After the program, the Chief Minister visited various stalls with the dignitaries present and inspected them with lot of interest.
On this occasion Secretary of Zalawad Federation Shri Vaibhav Choksi delivered the welcome speech and President Shri Kishorsinh Zala addressed the occasion. Also former Minister Shri I.K.Jadeja, Wadhwan MLA Shri Dhanji Patel, Dhrangdhra MLA Shri Parsottam Sabariya, Municipality President Shri Virendra Acharya,Leading industrialists and traders of the district including Shri Ghanshyam Savdhariya and office bearers of various associations of the district were present. Various programs have been organized for three days in this conclave.
