Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) proves to be a great help to the poor and vulnerable families to get best treatment for their ailments at hospitals. Beneficiaries from Vadodara district too get the benefit of this scheme when they need it the most.
The health assurance scheme started by the government give the families in Vadodara district a strong support for emergency and medical needs. Every beneficiary had a story to tell and all praise the government scheme which helps them in the most challenging time.
Parmar Jagdishbhai Laljibhai, 47 resident of Masar village in Padra Taluka of Vadodara district and working as security guard. He had a shoulder injury after fell down from his bike in a freak accident near Nabipur, Bharuch on 19-03-2022.
He visited various hospitals to get the doctor’s opinion where they suggested for a operation. But for him the cost is high and he was in lots of mental pressure. However Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Card gives him the strength and he was operated free of cost using this facility on 22 March 2022. He thanked the Modi government for starting this scheme which helps people like him to avail good treatment in hospitals.
Gitaben Kalidas Solanki, 46 is a housewife and resident of Ranoli in Vadodara district. While fetch water she developed pain in her lower back which was unbearable for her. She consulted private hospital for treatment where they suggested treatment costs around six lakhs. She was injured in 2018 and also operated at Gotri hopsital but the situation doesn’t get improved and she had to spent most of her time in the bed. The situation even gets worse for her without her husband who died of cancer in 2016.
She renews her card in 2020 and the limit raised to five lakhs. After that she was operated for her problem free of cost and now lives her life without pain. She said without this card probably she would not survive.
Dakshaben Ramchandra Vasava, 48 from Waghodia is another patient who is all praise for this card which help her and family members to avail medical facilities at hospital totally free of cost. She had Hysterectomy problems and having unbearable pain in the stomach. In 2021 she was advised by the doctors to perform the operation to remove the uterus and told her about the cost nearing around 40,000. With three children to raise and husband a worker in GIDC it is tough for her to arrange the money.
During this time a Ashaben worker visited her village and inform her about the PMJAY and its benefits. She visit Jamnabai hospital where she get the new card as she doesn’t renew the earlier card they had with them. After that she was operated and now living healthy life. Moreover her mother get treatment of her heart problem using this card and her brother too get the free treatment of his kidney ailments by using the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna. She thanked the Prime Minister for this card as it gives life to three members of her family.
Arvindbhai Harmanbhai Patel, 62 from Laxmipura in Vadodara district also is proud beneficiary of this card. Working as diesel mechanic in private company he suffers from heart problem and need urgent treatment. The company was later closed left him jobless. The cost of his ailment was high as the society night watchman job he is doing is not enough to bear the expenses of his treatment. He went to Baroda Heart hospital where this card helps him done the engiography free of cost along with the medicines. He said, the card is like a God to people like him and those work daily to earn their living.
