The first automatic coach washing plant of Gujarat (Gujarat) has been built at Bhuj railway station of Ahmedabad railway division. The plant was set up at a cost of Rs. 2.12 crore. The Railway Board’s Member Rolling Stake and the ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India, Rajesh Aggarwal inaugurated this washing plant at Bhuj station.
On this occasion, Aggarwal said that the railway always provides better and cleaner services to the passengers. It is the first automatic plant in Gujarat, built at a cost of about Rs 2.12 crore. This coaching depot is an important coaching depot of the Western Railway, where maintenance of trains like Kutch Express and Sayaji nagari takes place. These trains connect Kutch to Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Apart from this, this depot also provides services to run trains like Bhuj – Bareilly and Bandra – Bhuj safely. He also reviewed railway services to make railway yatra comfortable for passengers in Bhuj and Gandhidham region.
Regarding the automatic coach washing plant, he told that when the train passes at a speed of 5 to 8 kilometers per hour, both the tracks and the plant clean it in 15 to 20 minutes. When the train arrives in this area, the plant itself turns on by photo electric sensors. The coaches are cleaned at various stages like first wetting them, then spraying detergent, brushing and finally drying them all are automatic, which will save manpower and improve the cleanliness of trains.
On this occasion, Chief Railway Engineer of Western Railway, Ashesh Agarwal, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Parimal Shinde, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Padam Singh Jadhav and Area Manager Gandhidham Adish Pathania and senior railway officers and employees were present.
