Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami and opener Mayank Agarwal have reached career-best rankings in the latest ICC Test rankings. Shami and Mayank played an important role in the innings and 130 runs victory against Bangladesh. Shami had taken three wickets in the first innings and four wickets in the second innings, while Mayank had a double century of 243 runs.
Shami has jumped eight places to number seven in the bowlers’ list. They now have 790 rated points. He has become the third Indian fast bowler to achieve the highest rating. Before him, Kapil Dev has scored 877 and Jaspreet Bumrah 832. At the same time, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav have climbed up one place each to reach 20th and 22nd respectively. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin remains at number 10 in the top-10 while he has reached number four in the list of all-rounders. Mayank has reached 11th position in the batsmen’s list. He has scored 858 runs in 8 Tests so far and has a rating of 691. Ravindra Jadeja has climbed four places to number 35.
