Anti-govt protest against PM Khan continues on 7th day in Pakistan

The protests against Prime Minister Imran Khan under the leadership of the fiery Maulana and leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Pakistan has continued for the seventh day on Thursday, failing to break the deadlock between the opposition and the government. Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, a member of the government’s team of interlocutors, met Fazlur Rahman at his home in Islamabad on Thursday to end the protest. Elahi said after the meeting that we will soon convey “good news” to the country regarding the talks between the government and the opposition.
We hope (and see) things going towards betterment. Right-wing Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Fazlur Rahman is spearheading the demonstration called the ‘Independence March’ in Islamabad. He is demanding Imran Khan’s resignation, accusing Imran Khan of “rigging” in the 2018 election. Opposition parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have also supported this anti-government protest.
