One more major blow to Senior Congress leader and Ex Finance minister P. Chidambaram and his son Karti. CBI files a charge sheet against 14 persons, including former Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and his son Karti in INX media case.
The probe team has filed the charge sheet in the case. More details are awaited,” said a CBI official. The agency had got sanction from the Central government to prosecute Mr. Chidambaram.
The CBI has arrested him from his residence in South Delhi on August 21, after his plea for anticipatory bail, denied by the Delhi High Court, was not entertained by the Supreme Court.
In the same case, CBI has arrested Karti Chidambaram in February 2018. He was accused of demanding and having accepted $1 million for scuttling a proposed probe against INX Media on suspected violation of FIPB (Foreign Investment Promotion Board) conditions in 2007.
