Ranjan Gogoi recommends Justice S A Bobde’s name for new Chief Justice of India

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi has written a letter to the Central Government recommending Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde (S. A. Bobde) to be the next Chief Justice of the country after him. CJI Justice Ranjan Gogoi has written a letter to the Central Government for the next Chief Justice. If he is agreed, then Chief Justice Jistis Bobde will be sworn in on 18th November. Justice Bobde will be the 47th Chief Justice. Justice Bobde will remain the Chief Justice till 23rd April 2021.
Born in Nagpur on 24th April, 1956, Bobde is a judge of the Supreme Court and is also the Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. Sharad Arvind holds a BA and LLB degree from Nagpur University. Sharad Arvind Bobde (S. A. Bobde) became part of the Bombay High Court bench on 29th March 2000 as Additional Judge. Sworn in as Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court on 16th October ‘2012. Promoted as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 12th April ‘2013. Justice Bobde will be the Chief Justice till 23rd April, 2021.
