PM Modi to visit Saudi Arabia soon, will discuss investment with Prince Salman

Prime Minister Modi will soon visit Saudi Arabia, during which he will hold bilateral meetings with top Saudi leadership including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to attend an ‘investment summit’ organized by the Gulf nation in Riyadh, the capital. But no official announcement has yet been made about PM Modi’s visit. According to sources, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia has prepared the ground for the Prime Minister’s visit to be held later this month.
Doval discussed various aspects of bilateral issues with Saudi leaders on the visit and explained to the Saudi leadership about India’s decision to Abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, after which Saudi reportedly Said that he understands India’s position in this regard. This will be PM Modi’s second visit to this Gulf country. He last visited Riyadh in 2016, during which he was awarded the country’s highest civilian award in the name of Abdul Aziz Saud.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited India in February this year, during which both countries reaffirmed a deep commitment to strengthen the strategic partnership envisaged in the Riyadh Declaration ‘and also condemned extremism and terrorism. Saudi Arabia, which is the world’s largest oil exporter, wants to invest US $ 100 billion in the areas of refining, energy and infrastructure. India can be a convenient place for this. The country’s largest oil company Aramco is also partnering with Indian companies.
