Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray gave an ‘indirect’ clean chit to his cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray over the ED notice served to him saying nothing would come out from the inquiry.
Uddhav was interacting with journalists at his Matoshree residence in Mumbai after inducting former Congress MLA Nirmala Gavit and NCP leader Rashmi Bagal into the party.
When asked about the ED notice served to Raj Thackeray, Uddhav said, “I don’t think anything would come out of an inquiry. Hence, I think, we should wait for a day or two.”
The ED has issued a notice to Raj Thackeray asking the MNS chief to appear at its Mumbai office for an inquiry on Thursday morning. Raj, however, had asked his party workers to maintain peace and harmony and urged them not to assemble outside the ED office.
Uddhav avoided reacting on the speculation about NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal and MP Sunil Tatkare’s attempts to join Shiv Sena. He said, ”I will speak on these issue at the appropriate time.”
