Cloudburst hits Chamoli, Tehri districts in Uttarakhand, 4 died

At least four persons, including three women were died and two injured, while many were left homeless after flash-floods and landslides triggered by cloud bursts hit Chamoli and Tehri districts of Uttarakhand.
Two women along with their cattle were washed away in a flash flood triggered by cloud burst in Faldiya village of Dewal block in Chamoli district on Thursday late night.
According to state disaster response force (SDRF) officials, The incessant rainfall also damaged 12 houses in the village leaving many families homeless.
The deceased have been identified as Pushpa Devi and Jyoti, both residents of Faldiya village.
SDRF personnel along with district administration teams reached the affected village and relief and rescue operation are currently underway.
Tripti Bhatt commandant of SDRF said, “We are making alternative arrangements for 10-12 families, whose houses were damaged, at government primary and junior high schools.”
In the second incident, two more persons died and one injured in Ghansali tehsil of Tehri district following a cloudburst in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
Another cloudburst had hit Kulethi village in Kirti Nagar area of Tehri district leaving one woman injured and several cattle and hens being washed away in an overflowing local rivulet.
