YV Subba Reddy sworn as TirumalaTirupati Devasthanams trust board 50th chairman

YV Subba Reddy, former MP and CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s uncle was sworn in as the 50th chairman of the most coveted TirumalaTirupati Devasthanams trust board which manages the affairs of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and close to 4 dozen temples across the country.
Accompanied by his family members and party leaders including Rajya sabha MP V Vijaya Sai Reddy, deputy chief minister K Naraynaswamy, former TTD trust board chairman and Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and other YSRC leaders, YV Subba Reddy who arrived at the Srivari temple was sworn-in as the new chairman of the TTD by EO Anil Kumar Singhal at the Garudazhwar sannidhi inside the sanctum sanctorum.
After worshipping Lord Venkateswara for a brief while, the new chairman arrived at the Ranganayakula mandapam where TTD priests rendered Vedasirvachanam while the temple officials handed over Lord’s prasadams.
Speaking to reporters in his maiden interaction, the new chairman minced no words and set his priorities straight. Thanking the chief minister for bestowing him the divine opportunity to head the richest temple body in the country which many yearn for, YV Subba Reddy underlined that preserving the spiritual sanctity of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara would be his top most priority.
“Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy clearly told me during my appointment as TTD chairman that there should be no compromise whatsoever when it comes to upholding the traditions and customs in-vogue at the Tirumala temple since ages. And chief minister’s diktat is going to be my top priority. The new TTD trust board appointed by the government will strictly adhere to the prescribed agamas without any deviations”, he added.
Pointing out to several alleged irregularities that took place in the TTD administration during the Telugu desam party regime, YV Subba Reddy said the new trust board will thoroughly probe into all kinds of irregularities and initiate appropriate action if required. The new trust board will bring in mechanisms to ensure transparency in administration at all levels”.
Responding to the retirement of hereditary priests issue, the new chairman said the chief minister had advised him to convene a meeting of religious heads of mutts and spiritual organizations in addition to the families of the hereditary priests and all stake-holders concerned to arrive at an amicable and a long-standing solution to the issue.
The new TTD chairman said a full-fledged trust board will be formed by the new government within a week from now to steer forward the administration of the richest temple administration in the country.
Expressing concern on the depleting water reserves at the various dams at Tirumala coupled with the delay in the arrival of monsoon this season, YV Subba Reddy said he would draw the attention of the chief minister to address the issue as a top priority besides looking into long-term measures towards addressing the burgeoning drinking water needs of the world renowned hill shrine thronged by millions of devotees year after year.
Meanwhile, YSRC national general secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy said he prayed Lord Venkateswara to bestow his divine grace on the new TTD chairman to drive forward the administration in the right direction and in line with the sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Venkateswara across the globe.
