Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi convenor Gopal Rai alleged that the two parties were in alliance to defeat the “in majority” AAP in the north corporation zone elections. Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday alleged that Congress and BJP joined hands in the recently concluded zone elections of North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
“We believe the alliance between Congress and BJP is at the behest of Congress’s top leadership,” Rai alleged.
Terming the allegations baseless, Congress said AAP should rather focus on resolving the disputes between its leaders. Senior Congress leader and Dhirpur councillor Mukesh Goel said, “In City-Sadar Paharganj zone election, their councillors cross voted for Congress and that’s why we managed to win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Veena Virmani, standing committee chairperson and BJP councilor, also said that AAP had performed badly in the Lok Sabha elections and most of its candidates finished third. Now, it was using all these tactics to revive itself.
