Calorx Olive International School Green Cyclothon started at 6.30 am today from the school campus and cyclists went all the way to the Thol Bird Sanctuary. More than 80 students from Grade 4 to Grade 12,spread across an age-group of 9 years to 18 years of age participated in the event. Some teachers and parents pedaled along with the students through the entire 12 km stretch. The group spent some time watching a variety of birds. The event started at the break of dawn and ended at the school by mid-morning, by when the group returned.
At the school, the students participated in a group painting event. Students painted placards depicting trees and cycles – with a view to promote the idea of nurturing and saving the environment and acquiring a healthy lifestyle.
The core team of COIS meticulously planned the entire event with cooperation from Thol Bird Sanctuary Staff, Santej Police station and Kalol Collectors’ office. Proximity to nature, adventure and care for environment are integral to the school’s philosophy.
